Panjim (Panaji)

Panjim (Panaji) The Goan capital, surrounded by lush green hillside terraces, the seashore and the Mandovi River.

A busy metropolis with untidy streets, hairy traffic and a skyline of red tiled roofs. It lies on the banks of the Mandovi River estuary, in the district of North Goa. With a population of around 65,000 Panaji is Goa's third largest city after Vasco and Margao.

Panjim (Panaji) has some attractive whitewashed churches, small parks and squares and a nice promenade along the riverside.
